A Shabbat Announcement!

Shabbat Shalom!  Although you may be reading this on a different day, I'm writing on a Saturday afternoon while watching my husband and children play and work in our backyard garden as I type away.  Shabbat is our favorite day.  Starting on Friday evenings, once my husband gets home, we close the front door and lock it, shutting ourselves away from the rush hour frenzy.  Safe in our little haven, we escape from everything for a while.  Once that door closes, it feels like we are tucked inside a castle refuge, safe from the chaos of the world.

We have some special traditions that have become very dear to our hearts.  One of these traditions, we would like to share with you all.  Every Shabbat, after baths and brushing teeth, after cozy jammies are on and the children are fluffing their pillows, there is always a little voice asking, "Daddy, can we hear a Shabbat Story?"

What exactly is a Shabbat Story, you may ask?  Shabbat Stories began for our family in January of 2021.  Every Friday evening as a special treat, my husband Ryan began to tell his own made-up stories heavily inspired by Scripture, oftentimes pulling from his own studies or from the meaty teachings we had received from our pastor over the course of the week.  These tales often left either Ryan or myself with tears brimming in our eyes.  Even better was the reaction from the children.  These stories were not lost on them.  Our oldest two would pretend-play these stories for days, using their imaginations and the inspiration from their Daddy's wonderful story-telling.  Consequently, our children were actually acting out stories and precepts from the depths of the Torah, the Prophets, the Writings, the life of Yeshua, and oftentimes the parables He told.  The Word began to be part of their normal day-to-day interactions in such a creative way.  We know children learn very easily and very deeply through playing.  What if all of our family and friends could have this opportunity to retain the Word of God in such a natural manner? We did not realize this would have such a huge impact on the foundational spiritual solidity of our kids, and we are so humbled to be able to share these Spirit-led stories and further equip our children in the ways of the Lord.

Thanks to none other than the Lord Himself, we now have the ability to share these Shabbat Stories.  The process for these books has been supernatural.  Ryan has been anointed to get these words and this art onto paper.  During this time when children are so viciously attacked, let us boldly insulate them with the Word of God, and give their little brains stories deeply rooted in the Kingdom of God so that they may be like the man in Psalm 1- meditating on His law day and night, firmly planted by rivers of living water, yielding fruit, not withering, but prospering all of his or her days.

The Shabbat Stories series will be available on Rosh Hashanah 5784, September 16, 2023 on Amazon.  Below are sneak peeks of the seven titles available in the series.  All seven will be available for purchase (sold separately), with more titles coming soon.
